Snafu Podcast 14 - Mr Green

Snafu and The Deep End are proud to announce our new resident DJ MR GREEN.

We met with him last week and asked him what makes him tick...

“I became interested in music at the grand old age of 8 years old, making mix tapes of the charts on a Sunday afternoon using a tape recorder. It didn’t take long before I progressed onto my dads old Technics turntable with rotary pitch adjust and started to buy dance records of all shapes and forms. At the age of 16 I got my first set of turntables and mixer (second hand off a friend) and started spinning... Three years later after moving into Aberdeen I landed a resident spot dj'ing at what was then called Blu bar on a Saturday night playing anything from commercial house to US garage. A few years later the bar was re-branded as Tonic where I continued as the main resident and predominantly played Soulful house. At the same time I dj’d at a number of the IVY parties in some of the most unusual venues across the North East (Dunnoter Castle being the most memorable!) and much more recently I have played with Funky T in Snafu at his night 'The Deep End'.
As I’ve grown up I’d like to think my musical taste has too. I’m now into deep house, electro and jacking US house. I would like to think as myself as a versatile dj and not pigeon hole myself into one particular style”

You can hear Mr Green Dj'ing at The Deep End every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month or, if you can't make it down, then here is a little taster of what the Green Machine can do...
